EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

“The basis of art is truth, both in matter and in mode.” —Flannery O’Connor

THE STORY

Being a dramatic portrayal of the poetry of the Great War, our story depicts the terrible human struggle of sin, despair, grace, and redemption—made incarnate through two conversions: the conversion of the War Poet Siegfried Sassoon; and the conversion of the Spirit of Death—all brought to life as a movie happening in real time.

FINANCING

The financial requirement for our Live Cinema innovation is $5 million: $3.5 million will provide for the development, production, and post-production deliverables for the performances and subsequent film, with the remainder spent on marketing. This structure allows for both a traditional distribution path for both the live performances and acquisition deal, as well as a self-motivated release strategy of the film.

SALES

We designed the budget with the financial return in mind and our deeply experienced team of M&E professionals is well-positioned to avoid the typical pitfalls of indie sales. Combined with festivals and a traditional theatrical release of a final-edit, along with post-theatrical Streaming Video-on-Demand (SVOD), broadcast, and foreign distribution outlets—for which a story set in the Great War and fashioned through a collaboration of international production units lends itself well—Live Cinema opens up an additional sales channel: the performances themselves. Colleges & Universities and Historic & Art House theaters will livestream the “must-see” performance series which inherently embodies a sense of urgency given the limited opportunities to view the high-wire act and unpredictable nature of live performance. (See the “Distribution” section for more details.)
