MARTIAL JUNCEAU

FILM DEVELOPMENT, Entrepreneurialism & Aesthetics

A 2024 graduate of Bard College, where he studied Literature with a focus on Dante and other medieval Italian writers and poets, Martial is a filmmaker, actor, and writer, born, raised, and still based in New York City. Artist parents, a poet mother and sculptor father, primed him early on for an interest in the arts. He studied film at a technical school, the High School of Art and Design, where he gained a basic knowledge in editing software (receiving a certification in Premiere Pro), camera work, and sound. Martial has starred in an award-winning short film, as well as several productions on stage of classic Shakespeare plays. Most recently, he played the titular role in a production of Hamlet performed outdoors at the historical landmark of early American architecture, Montgomery Place in the Hudson Valley.

Martial is currently in production on a short which is to serve as a proof-of-concept for a feature film inspired, in part, by J.K Huysmans 1891 novel, "Là-Bas" or as it is commonly known in English, "The Damned." He is also working on a book which is to be an experimental hagiography of Blessed Carlo Acutis, based in part on research he did for his senior thesis at Bard, some of which involved traveling to Italy to see sites related to the soon-to-be saint and other saints to which he is devoted. Additionally, Martial is in the early stages of an upcoming production of Macbeth.
